Blackberry OS10 (Q10, Z10, Z30) no touchscreen response? The stupid, stupid, stupid Screen Reader is enabled via the stupid stupid stupid shortcut.

A user came to me today when his Q10 not responding to any direct touchscreen interaction. The odd thing was you could swipe in from any of the four sides, you could type and hit enter, and apps would open… simply not tap anywhere directly on the screen to interact.

After some google-fu, I came across the solution.

The Screen Reader was accidentally enabled via the shortcut of hitting the power button three times. I tapped the power button three times again, and all was well with the world.

You can easily disable this shortcut: Settings> Accesibility> Screen Reader BETA> “Enable screen reader using triple tap”> off.

Thanks nikgilbe.
