nDPI and ntop

This is in compliment to an earlier post about ntop. You will need to follow that page, up until the “Install ntop” then continue here.

The SVN version (unstable) of ntop comes with a fancy new deep packet inspection feature titled nDPI.

To install this version of ntop, you can obtain the latest release from svn:

yum -y install subversion
svn co https://svn.ntop.org/svn/ntop/trunk/ntop/
cd ntop
./autogen.sh --prefix=/usr/local/bin/ntopunstable #installs to /usr/local/bin/ntopunstable
make
make install
make install-selinux-policy

Clearly, you should generate a different DB path, etc, for the unstable build.

You can pick up the remainder of the configuration from my previous post on ntop install and configuration.
