Software: Installing Redmine

This post is uber-depreciated.
Instead see the Rhodecode and Redmine Solution.

The baseline stuff: compliment to http://www.redmine.org/projects/redmine/wiki/RedmineInstall

1) install postgresql 8.4.x

2) convert mysql DB dump to postgresql

3) import postgresql converted dump into postgresql instance:
>"C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.4\bin\psql.exe" -h localhost -p 5432 -d redmine -U postgres  rake generate_session_store
[this will return some errors that can be ignored]

SKIPPING steps 5-6 on wiki walkthrough

12) bring up with webrick to test:
.\redmine-1.2.0> ruby script/server webrick -b -e production -p 8080

Returns PID of ruby\webrick: tasklist | findstr "ruby"
returns if this process is bound to a port: netstat -abn | findstr "[PID]"

13) change the logging level by creating .\redmine-1.2.0\config\additional_environment.rb:
config.logger = Logger.new(config.log_path, 2, 1000000)
config.logger.level = Logger::WARN

14) configured email delivery by creating .\redmine-1.2.0\config\configuration.yml:

  delivery_method: :smtp
    address: smtp.com
    port: 25
    domain: smtp.com
    authentication: :none

15) And remember to migrate the attached files:
cp -r .\old_redmine-0.8.4\files cp -r .\redmine-1.2.0\files\
