Stuff I’d like to implement: XMPP Server with message archiving and a SIP server

Today, I started looking into an XMPP server, and then realized that my client would also need archiving of conversations… for like six years or something (thanks SEC, with your regulations). Enter Openfire, an XMPP server plus a built-in module that allows for archiving. Now reading the OpenFire blog, I’d love to implement AsteriskWin32 as well.

Challenge 1: Archive compression.
Challenge 2: Get client to buy a NetApp :(

Humm… not quite really working towards my MCSE, but definitely resume bullet-point worthy.

whoops… looks like OpenFire includes a message archiving tool by default. Although Open Archive will allow for user access to read and delete from their archived messages.”

Using an XMPP server in your infrastructure? Comment.
