Random: Verizon Wireless won’t be replacing your phone with a guaranteed new or upgrading your phone if you have Technical problems…

Last night, my internal speaker stopped working on my Treo which caused a bit of confusion. I can speak with my headset and on speakerphone though, so I figured I’d call Verizon Wireless tech support and attempt to get a replacement phone. I explained to them that I had reseated the battery and had already hard reset the phone. Within fifteen minutes I was receiving a replacement phone, shipped two day FedEx. I was hoping that Verizon Wireless had run out of Treo 700w models and only had 700wx models left, Nope… you’re also not even guaranteed to get a new phone. It could be refurbished.
Oh well… still the idea that there wasn’t any argument or unnecessary troubleshooting (which is always annoying), and that I had a new phone coming to me within fifteen minutes is a testament to Verizon Wireless’s continued excellent customer service.
